Constructed from five miniature pendulums next to one another, the Newton’s Cradle is a science geek’s dream. Each pendulum is attached to a frame by two strings of equal length angled away from each other. This string arrangement restricts the pendulums' movements to the same plane, thus causing them to hit each other and propel the other into the air. Watch them transfer the kinetic energy through each other right to the end of the row, while almost immediately the last one flies out and back in again with another satisfying ‘TICK’.
