This radio has 83 DCS (Digitally Coded Squelch) sub-channels on each main channel as well as 38 CTCSS (Continuous Tone Coded Squelch System). The DCS channels and the CTCSS channels cannot be used at the same time.

The DCS and CTCSS systems cut out unwanted messages from the main channel, the radio will only pick up messages from radios on the same channel and sub-channel.

Any radio on a main channel (with the sub-channels switched off) will be able to hear any message sent on that channel and any sub-channel on that main channel.

The charger has an UK plug and the radio instruction book is only in English. The radio can fit in the charger with the wrist strap and belt clip fitted. The radio has a vibrating alert on the call, this function will work with the MT900 but not the MT305 (call functions and vib-alerts are usually model specific).
