Wireless headphones do away with the length of cabling that connects them to your computer or stereo, instead they use wireless signals to transmit audio, meaning you won’t accidentally pull the socket out, trip over the cord or discover that it’s managed to get into a huge tangled mess. There are two types: radio frequency and IR. RF headphones have a longer range and are useful for listening to music from a stereo around the home, whereas IR is cheaper but has a much shorter range and requires line of sight to maintain the signal. These are good for computers and televisions. The transmitter units use standard 3.5mm sockets so you can connect it to any device that outputs an audio signal through a headphone socket, whether it’s a computer, stereo, iPod, games console or anything else!
